(Answer) (Category) FAQ-O-Matic : (Category) General : (Category) Designer :
Why doesn't the designer honor the component size I've set using the drag handles?
Greg Hamer writes:

The UI designer assumes people are using pack() unless it finds a setSize(new Dimenion(width, height)) propertySetting in the JbInit method. If you add the setSize call, the designer will honor and update it as you re-size the frame in the designer. If there is no size property setting, the designer just remembers the size of the form for the next time you bring it up in the designer. If you do add a setSize call, just make sure that it has one Dimension parameter instead of two integers.

Previous: (Answer) I'm writing a JavaBean. I need it to behave differently in JBuilder's Designer than it will at runtime. How do I do this?
Next: (Answer) I'm writing a bean and I want to use it in the designer. I added it to the Designer's palette, but once it's loaded, changes I make to its code don't take effect. How can I test my own beans in the designer?
