(Answer) (Category) FAQ-O-Matic : (Category) Windows-specific :
I've just install JBuilder on my Pentium IV running Windows/ME. When I try to launch JBuilder, I get the following error: "Java has caused an errer in SYMCJIT.DLL. Java is closing. Try to restart the computer if this happens again." I've tried re-booting and re-installing without success.
SYMCJIT.DLL is an old copy of the Symantic JIT. JBuilder 3.5 doesn't need it. You can simply rename the dll file to hide it, or you can track and which older application uses it and unstall it.

Also note that Pentium 4 cpus have difficulty running the JBuilder Installer (or any older JVM which has not been patched to run properly on the P4.)

Next: (Answer) I installed JB5 on Windows, and it doesn't paint properly. Popups, menus, scrolling, etc act wierd.
