(Answer) (Category) FAQ-O-Matic : (Category) General : (Category) Debugger :
My project is using JDK 1.1.8. When I try to launch the debugger, I get an error about launching the VM.
JBuilder's debugger uses JPDA and supports debugging only with other JPDA-compliant JVMs. Sun didn't provide JPDA retrofits for the 1.1.x JVMs. So, basically, you can run but you can not debug applications on 1.1.x with with any of the all-Java JBuilder versions. (JBuilder 3.0 Foundation, 3.5, 4.0, and later.)

Previous: (Answer) I've set a breakpoint in a file. The debugger stops at the breakpoint. When I click the icon to single-step to the next line, the debugger takes off at a run, just like I'd pressed the 'run' icon instead. What gives?
