When I launch JBuilder, I see the splash screen, or a blank window where the splash screen should be, and nothing happens.
If I launch jbuilder.exe instead of jbuilderw.exe, I see the following error:

  Assertion failed: offset < fFileSize, file
  ..\..\..\..\src\share\native\sun\awt\
  font\fontmanager\fontobjects\fontObject.cpp, line 240

  abnormal program termination
  -----------------

One variant of this issue is caused by improper access rights on font files. When some fonts are accessible only by administrator users, these errors are displayed on NT4: 

  An EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION exception has been detected in native code outside the VM. Program counter=0x502032cf

  Unhandled exception in java.exe (FONTMANAGER.DLL): 0xC0000005: Access Violation.

Previous: (Answer) JBuilder 4 isn't using my input locale for the keyboard, it's using the general locale. What's up with this? Or, why does JBuilder 4 keep turning on Chinese input method even though I want to use English?
Next: (Answer) When I launch the JB4 installer (or just insert the auto-play CDRom), I get the following dialog: "javaw.exe - Application Error, The instruction at "0x500bf974" referenced memory at "0x00000e7f". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program."
