Vyana is speaking with someone in the lobby, her crutch crooked under one arm. She turns away, and spots Kyril. She nods to the sorter, "Greetings." she says.

Clearing his throat, Kyril takes a few steps into the foyer, absentmindedly running a hand over his hair. "Excuse me," he says quietly to Vyana. "Deputy Guildmaster Stewart? Might I have a moment of your time?"

Vyana nods to Kyril, "Certainly...out here, or would you like to go somewhere more private?" she says, motioning to her office door.

Eyes darting from left to right, as if assessing the room and any others nearby, Kyril finally looks toward the indicated door. "I believe,' he says slowly, "that the matter is best discussed in private." He smiles, briefly. "It is a matter of some delicacy."

Vyana nods to Kyril, "Let's go into my office then." she turns, and with some difficulty, manages to reach her door. Vyana goes through the set of glass double doors in the east toward the Guildmaster's Office.

Administration Foyer
Plush red carpet speckled with gold fibers runs from wall to wall, muffling the sound of footsteps to a dull thud for the most enthusiastic stepper. A crystal chandelier lights the room with a soft incandescent glow, soothing to the eyes and more relaxing than the harsh glare of fluorescent bulbs. The walls have been tinted a soft ivory which shades toward cream. The soft color also lends to the comforting atmosphere of the room. A circle of low-slung armchairs ring a round coffee table in one corner, giving the sense that the Guild conducts business out here on occasion.

A wing of offices leads off to the north while in the east is the Guild Master's Office. Directly opposite the Guild Master's office, to the west, is the lift area.

Assistant's Area
A subtle motif of brown and beige saturates the room, making everything seem calmer and more relaxing. Hanging from the ceiling is a crystal chandelier, crafted by the Guild artisans. Soft luminescence radiates from the chandelier, causing the crystals to wink and dance hypnotically. Deep red carpet, flecked with rich gold fibers runs from wall to wall, muffling any heavy sounds. However, the chandelier seems to pick up the slightest echo and re-direct the sound toward a desk situated near the back-center of the room. The desk is composed of a rich, dark mahogany that upon closer inspection is revealed to be synthetic. To one side of the desk is a computer terminal. A comfortable chair on rollers sits behind the desk, allowing easy access to the computer as well as a phone and intercom system. Contents:

Deputy Guildmaster's Office
A single large desk dominates the middle of the room, covered with recessed displays flashing information to be filtered before heading for the Guildmaster's similar desk. Off to one side is a collection of comfortable chairs clustered around a low table, obviously a place to discuss important matters a little more casually. The room is decorated in shades of soft silver and mint green, a rather deep and rich green carpet muffles most noise, and a sparkling silver stripe leads out the door to the rest of the administration wing.

Vyana sits down at the table, setting her crutch aside. She motions for Kyril to take a seat.

Kyril walks in quietly. "May I assist you to a seat, Deputy Guildmaster? Or find some refreshments for you? Those injuries," he adds, "look rather painful."

Vyana shakes her head with a smile, as she manages to get settled, "No..the medics tell me I'll be back to normal in another week or so."
Vyana seems to be elsewhere occasionally.

With a slow nod, Kyril smiles. "That," he murmurs, "is good to hear." Twisting the ring on his finger for a moment, he looks up. "Deputy Guildmaster, my reason for coming may seem a little odd to you. It's not part of rules and regs. I nevertheless felt it my duty to do so." He takes a deep breath. "The other night, when I was on duty in Sorting, I sorted some crystals -- lovely blacks, they were -- for Singer Gyles Lee. It's not his cutting that worries me. It's the Singer himself I am concerned about."

Vyana's brow furrows, "Singer Lee? What's wrong with him?"

Kyril's brows knit in concern. "Other than an extreme case of exhaustion after what I presume was a very long period spent in the ranges, I believe he was quite stunned to have learned of the shuttle accident which took so many lives. Including the life of Sorter Tamber Al-Acorrin." Kyril adds, "My mentioning it was the first he heard of the accident. Or the many deaths."

Vyana nods, "That seems extremely understandable. This is what was concerning you? He may have been off-world..."

Kyril shakes his head. "He told me he'd been in the Ranges for months, ma'am. He seems so stunned by the news... I am, frankly, a little concerned for his well-being."

Vyana says, "Do you think he is unhealthy?"

Kyril lifts his shoulders in a shrug. "I am uncertain of that. However, Deputy Guildmaster, if he had a close friend or two, someone he could talk to, I believe it would be beneficial at this time."

Vyana seems to be elsewhere occasionally. Vyana says, "Doesn't he have...that young singer..what's her name?" Vyana asks, "Porobal?"

Kyril pauses a moment in thought. "Ah, Daline!" His face lights up. "She was in my class, you know. Perhaps I should have a word with her as well." He flashes a knowing grin. "I believe she's rather fond of him." After a brief pause, and more twisting of the ring, he asks, "Do you know of others I might speak with? Perhaps classmates? The only other person he asked about was Singer Sharr, but it is my understanding is that he and his wife are currently offworld."

Vyana says, "I don't know....I seem to recall that the head of our legal department, Psiosis Ralashan was in his class. Psiosis had some troubles himself recently, but he might be a good person." Vyana says, "Singer Telandra as well. Although again, I'm not certain she'd be the best person."

Kyril makes note of the names on his datapad. "I shall then," he says, "try to have a word with these two. Singer Lee seemed a decent fellow. It was quite worrisome to see him in such a state after hearing the news."

Vyana says, "Do you think I should recommend a meditech look at him, before he goes back out?"

Kyril's lips purse. "It might be wise, yes. Just to be sure he's all right."

Vyana nods, "I'll recommend Maxwell do it. He's directly responsible for the singers, and it might be better coming from him."

Kyril nods slowly. "I don't wish to bring undue trouble for the Singer, Deputy Guildmaster. At the same time, someone as skilled at cutting as he should have the help of the guild when it is needed."

Vyana nods, "I will ask Maxwell to send him a friendly note, requesting that he report to the meditechs. Is there anything else I can do?"

Kyril shakes his head. "No, Deputy Guildmaster, I don't think so." He rises from his seat. "Thank you for taking the time to listen to my concerns. I hope that my concerns are unfounded. Singer Lee seemed quite a kind fellow."
Kyril inclines his head respectfully, then flashing a raffish grin. "My thanks again, Deputy Guildmaster. If there is ever anything I can do to be of service, please do let me know."

You step out of the Deputy Guildmaster's office.
