'Anyone who slaps a "this page is best viewed with Browser X" label
on a Web page appears to be yearning for the bad old days, before the
Web, when you had very little chance of reading a document written on
another computer, another word processor, or another network.'
--Tim Berners-Lee in Technology Review, July, 1996
Philosophical Foo for Thought
A collection of thoughts from around the net.
Small but growing.
Fun Things that keep me occupied
I spend a lot of my free time mushing.
I also like to canoe, and to fish for panfish with microlight
tackle. You think bluegill can't fight? I've been pulled
across the lake in my canoe by feisty ones. It's a real hoot...
From time to time I check in on Mae and her brood.
I also enjoy NASA's Astronomy Picture
of the Day.
Information about my pages
Counters
Several of my pages have counters. You can check them all on a real-time
hit count
report provided by my ISP. Unfortunately, the only counter support
they provide is not Lynx-friendly. Boo!
Navigating my pages
The frames structure within my pages is entirely optional. No
presentation is lost, and I don't maintain separate pages at all for
anything other than the very top page itself, thanks to server-side
includes.
Most of my pages have self-referential links that will redisplay the
pages without frames. If you want to bookmark something of interest,
click that document's first heading, then bookmark the full-window
location.
I tend to go through spurts on things here, I might go for weeks or
even months between updates, then I'll get motivated and do a lot of
rearranging. If you have any comments about the pages, please feel free
to send me a note.
