Yet another ex-winternet user. It's getting so you can't swing a dead cat around here without hitting a ex-winternetter. Not that hitting a winternet user with a dead cat would be such a disaster. Except for the cat maybe. And Stephen Fischer would probably pay you for pictures.

Sandisk Sansa e200 info for Linux Users:
I recently received a Sandisk Sansa e260R as a gift and have compiled some information on using the Sansa with Linux.

Scuba diving pictures! Some friends and I went to Key Largo for a long weekend to finish getting certified, and there are pictures! Four of us got certified, and one other already-certified diver went along to get wet in some warm water.

It was way cool.

A few years ago I did the Web page for the very first Childrens Grand Prix of Minnesota. The Children's Grand Prix is a series of races that will take place in downtown Minneapolis every July. It includes an SCCA sanctioned Trans-Am event, and all proceeds go to The Cancer KIDS Fund.

They never paid the Internic invoice for the domain I set up for them, never even told me "thanks", and found somebody else to do the web page. Never even got to see the race -- not sure what I did to make them unhappy.

I also volunteer (lately, not so much) at the Minneapolis Public Library as an "Internet Tutor." (Helluva nice guy, ain't I?) Being an "Internet Tutor" means I show people how to run Mozilla (under MS-Windows, unfortunately).

The Minneapolis Public Library has networked computers available to the public at the Southeast, Central, and Northeast libraries. You can't read news or send e-mail, but you can browse around the Web.

I run the Linux operating system on several machines, both at work and at home. Linux is a copylefted Posix-compliant *nix OS. It runs all the cool SW including X11R6, Netscape, gcc and all of the Gnu stuff. It's available for Intel 80x86, PowerPC, DEC Alpha, Motorola 680x0, and SPARC architectures. Somebody is reportedly working on a VAX port -- god only knows why.

For about eight years (with a couple years off in there) I was a grad student at the U of M working on an MS in Computer Science. They finally took pity on me (or got sick of me) in June 1996 and let me graduate. Some of the work I've done at the U of M is available in links down at the bottom of this page.

Between work, home, and school I run a 2003 Mazda MX-5 (Miata) and a 92 Yamaha FJ1200B. For ton's of Miata info, miata.net is the world's coolest Miata web site, and there's fj1000.com for bike stuff.

An Office Full of Peanuts

Here's what my office looked like when I returned from a week long vacation. Larger versions of the "Office full of peanuts" photos are available.

My House's Web Page

Try the self-guided tour! -- The house sold, but I thought the web pages were cool, so I left them here.
