New Snow 
- Fresh fallen new snow will have sharp crystals, use fine structure 

Old Snow 
- Old packed snow will have more rounded crystals, use brass brushing or medium stone grind for structure 
- Old refrozen snow use a small rill 

Ski 
- For new snow use a medium or soft flex ski 
- For hard pack or cold snow, a stiff ski works best
