Strange Things People Left In My Shed

Last Updated 17-Apr-2004

People tend to leave things in my shed. It's a big shed. It always makes me think of the Arlo Guthrie song, you know where Alice and Ray move into the old church and they take out the pews and look at all that space and "decided that they didn't have to take out their garbage for a long time."

None of this stuff is mine. I have a lot of junk in the shed too, of course, but none of my stuff is strange. This is all other people's stuff that they left there.

The Shed Is Big

Gargoyle

I put him by the front entrance of the house to scare away evil spirits (that's what gargoyles are for you know). But, he was left in the shed by a former roomate.

Cooking Thing

This isn't all that interesting I guess. It's not mine.

Medical Oxygen Bottles

Every time I see these I think I should take them to a clinic or something. Maybe they're still good. I don't know.

Canoe of Junk

Projector

There was big plans for this. It's a huge projection TV. It has a focal length of 50 feet (the projector has to be 50 feet from the screen). The shed is 60 feet long. Wouldn't that be cool? It'll never work though. There's to many pieces missing, so the guy just left it here.

Dead Fish

I think it's a real fish that's been covered in plastic or something. I don't want to investigate too close though.

Punching Bag

Exercise equipment always gets left behind. (Never buy new).

Camouflage Army Helmet

Very useful in the right situation I suppose. Of course, if you don't need one it's totally useless.

Plastic Tree

You knew there had to be one of these in my shed didn't you?

Chandelier

The shed cat uses this for light.

Floor Buffer

Another one of those things that's very useful if that's what you need.

Typewriter

You see these all the time now that we have computers.

Christmas Tree

It's pretty sad up close. I probably won't use it at Christmas.
