Develops/designs web pages, internet applications and e-commerce sites in a predominantly UNIX environment. B-B, B-C.
- Writes automated web clients (LWP) for affiliate data extraction.
- Writes online applications to SQL databases. (Data translation to reports and User Interfaces). Writes browser and shell SQL database management tools. MySQL and some Informix database administration exp.
- Installs and maintains Apache web servers and plug-ins.
- Writes front-end (client side) JavaScript/DHTML for dynamic effects, cgi-bin form management and Cascading Style Sheets.
- Systems admistration of many UNIX varieties, Macintosh and Windows (email, NFS, upgrades, etc...)
- Writes socket level network tools for reliable file delivery (store and forward). Has a solid knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite.
- File and data translations between computing platforms (Mac, UNIX, Win).
- Modifies existing code for custom uses (MacBin, ftp, telnet, etc...)
- Performs network maintenance and builds cables.
- Instructs tutorial sessions (mostly UNIX applications and admin, HTML) Tutored university level calculus, physics, and chemistry.
- Provides technical support to a variety of UNIX, Mac and PC users.
