Hedonistic Enthusiasm Cornering and Safety Seminar Next event: Sunday May 17, 2009. Donation:
$50 for first timers (newbies), $80 for returning riders 2009 Signup: Enrollment is limted to NEWBIES ONLY until March 17, 2009. After that, enrollment is open for both newbies and returning riders. Definition of a newbie: ideally, a street rider with no prior DCTC or track instruction. However, realistically, any rider who looking to improve his/her skills, who hasn't done HE before, is a newbie. You decide. Want to explore your limits—and the limits of your machine? Try some hedonistic enthusiasm: get expert instruction and practice cornering skills on a closed-off driving course at the Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount, Minnesota. No cars, no sand, no pedestrians, no deer, no speeding tickets. Take control of your mind and your machine. Spend a day with us blowing out the winter cobwebs! Master cornering techniques: visual directional control, the art of countersteering, street-savvy traction management, high performance throttle control, seamless transitioning, and more. |

What is Hedonistic Enthusiasm? --------------->
Us longtime folks don't want to see that happen. So a few years ago we started a tradition: rent a little spot with some good pavement and sightlines and give the newer members a chance to get used to riding "The Pace" in a group setting. Make it fun and make it cheap. And show us that you're serious about your riding. |
The seminar originated as a service to Minnesota Sportbike (www.mn-sportbike.org) members, a group that is all about group riding. We get together several times a month to share what is arguably mankind's greatest creation: motorcycling.
You get lots of instruction, feedback, and one-on one coaching from our volunteer instructors, most of whom are Central Roadracing Association (CRA) experts. |
|
Here's
what it is: you get to spend a day meeting new friends and riding on a
closed course. No traffic, no sandy corners, no animals--no distractions.
Experienced riders and Central Roadracing Association expert racers give
you drills to work on, stuff to think about, watch you ride, and give
you feedback and encouragement. We want you to improve as motorcyclists.
We're gonna make you better. We want you to come out and join us in the
twisties this summer and not have to worry that you'll get in over your
head. We want to make your group riding experience the best possible experience. |

![]() You can't help but make new riding friends at HE. |
Hedonistic Enthusiasm is one way--in our opinion, the best way--we welcome new motorcyclists into our group and into motorcycling. We'll see you at last Wednesdays or first Thursdays, and other get togethers along the way. That's what we do. But if you're a newer rider, or if you're new to the group, HE is the best way for you to get acquainted and start your season off on the right foot. Come and join us. You won't regret it. |

Click on the links below to read up on the rules, read up on the drills, and download a registration form and send it in. Anybody who's done it will tell you it'll be the best money you'll spend spend on motorcycling all year. All you who agree, chime in say word! Keep in mind that the money you pay for HE is a donation. We don't do this to make money. Last year we used the proceeds to buy MSF Basic Rider Courses (BRCs) for CRA race volunteers. The year before we donated 10,000 bar coasters with motorcycle safety messages on them to local biker bars. Who knows what we'll come up with next?

|
Welcome, future hedonistic enthusiasts! And thank you in advance for the 30 or so volunteers that make it all happen. Most of them are former HE participants, by the way, and they love watching you ride as much as you'll love riding.
