About Community Band Resource Center
The meaning of the term "band" has evolved in the last decades so that "band" may indicate a different meaning than the traditional one used on these pages. A "Band" on this site is assumed to be a wind band that uses traditional wind instruments (woodwind and brass) along with percussion instruments. Community usually means there is an open membership for amateurs and the band is usually associated with some volunteer or education based organization. Concerts are many times "freebies" at a wide variety of venues. This page was begun as a public service project at Inver Hills Community College to see what needs could be served by such.
  • The intial listing of Community Wind Bands is located on the Resource Page. Bands have been added to this page as new information becomes available (see disclaimer).
  • This web site displays Concerts and Events for ANY Minnesota Community Band on these pages (there is NO membership required and there are NO CHARGES for services). (Click a link in the "Community Band Events" Bulletin Board on all pages.)
  • A Calendar is also used to present information on "known" Community Band Events. (Events are easily submitted using the Submit page to make the events become "KNOWN" for these services.)
  • ANY Minnesota Community Band may also submit news items (sometimes it is just a request for new members) that will be diplayed here.
  • There are some links to random resources that may be helpful!
Explore these pages and submit any suggestions.

NOTE: I have inserted a minor wrinkle on this site to thwart the automatic ROBOTS that access web pages in search of email addresses. If you want to send an email, just substitute the regular @ sign for the displayed (A) - or what ever substitute I am using at that time - in the email addresses.

Disclaimer:
If you have looked down this far on the page - Thanks!
This page was initially installed on AOL in 1996 and moved to VISI in Sept of 1997.
A few people (bands) have responded to update "contact" information for their bands but
I am sure most of the contact information is very dated.
Names, etc. (and maybe even bands) have surely changed.
Any updated information that you know would be much appreciated.
Use the Submit Information to submit information!
Thanks! (2 March 2002)

There are times when people tell us that the contact information for some bands have failed for them.
We will remove the contact information listed but probably will leave the Band listing for a time.

Hmmmm..... Is some kind of list better than nothing?
This list seems to be getting quite dated and needs some tender loving care! (Web Manager - 11 Feb 2004)
