very bright and expanding after a spectacular eruption in late October.

SWAN on October 29, 2006 at 7:00 pm CST.
Its tail is just barely visible to the upper left of the comet.

Machholz on December 31, 2004. It was fairly bright
and was easily seen with binoculars. But even through my
telescope, no tail was visible from my backyard location.

Comet NEAT 2001
Q4 on May 14, 2004. It was not as bright as
predicted, and there was little or no tail visible from my backyard location.

Comet Ikeya-Zhang
was visible just after sunset on March 16 and 22, 2003.
It was very low in the western sky, but was bright enough to be easily seen.
