The Relatives Descend

We were very fortunate to have relatives visit and help us with the twins. It made our first weeks at home so much easier! Cousin Sarah also took lots of pictures at around four weeks and organized them as follows: Thanks, Sarah!

Cassandra Susanne and Nathaniel Carl - Birth

Cassie and Nathan were born on Tuesday, April 16 at 11:36 and 11:37AM. Cassie ("Righty" during the pregnancy) weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz. and was 21 inches long. Nathan ("Lefty") was 6 lbs. 12 oz. and was 20.5 inches long. These are very good sizes for 37 week twins. Barb came through the C-section fine and is recovering well so far. We are very pleased!

This shot from 10 days after birth gives a better idea of some of their physical differences. Cassie (left) has darker and thicker hair. Their facial structures are noticably different too. Cassie cries more often and louder than Nathan. Nathan is, so far at least, more easy going; he looks around more without complaining and has more of a pleasant "chirp" than a cry.
