GMLTC Layout at the 1999 NMRA Train Show

These are some quick digital shots of the Greater Midwest LEGO Train Club (GMLTC)'s layout taken 24-25 July 1999 at the National Model Railroad Association's Train Show in St. Paul, MN. These are thumbnails linked to the full-sized images; hit the "Back" button to return to this page when done viewing an image. Alternately, this page contains all of the full-sized images in one place. My apologies for the image quality, but the ol' digital camera is first-generation. (Yeah, blame the technology. ;)

Four town shots. The second image features (left-right) poster boys John Neal, Larry Pieniazek, and John Kelly.

The baseball stadium:

The carnival, featuring working single and double ferris wheels and a carousel.

Down on the farm (what, no cows??). Note the US Mail logos on the mail truck.

The gravel pit/strip mine:

Bridges:

Two shots of the train yard. In the first picture, note John Neal's 8-stud-wide train cards in the lower left, and his ultra-long (too long to go around the layout's corners) passenger cars at left center.

John Gerlach's pride and joy: his Mindstorms-controlled roundhouse, at one end of the train yard.

Larry P's train shed and transfer table at the other end of the train yard.

Regrettably I didn't get any good close-up shots of Brian Williams' incredibly detailed (custom stickered) historic train re-creations.
