Music Selections

Family Addresses
This page will take a little while to load (sounds and images take the most time of anything on the web). These QuickTime sound files are among the fastest to load and this page has many sound files. You will be able to start to use the files before loading of the page is complete.
NOTE: No selection will automatically begin to play when this page is loaded. To hear a selection, click the proper control (the "play arrow") for the one you wish to hear. There is a volume control ("mini speaker") at the left of the icon. You may also adjust your own computer volume (in the Control Strip or Control Panels) or your playback system (speaker/amps) to suit your comfort/pleasure.
Apple QuickTime Plugin is needed!

About Selections
These selections are all MIDI format using QuickTime Movie Player and are relatively small in size. They will play for a longer time than some other file types without the RAM memory requirements!
There are many MIDI files available on the internet. (Macintosh users: Apple MoviePlayer will convert any .mid music file to a .mov file so it can be used like this.) Some of these selections are from internet resources but many of them are files I have constructed myself. Technical: These files use the General MIDI format!

Instructions

  • You must have the Apple QuickTime Plugin in the Plugins Folder/Directory of your Browser Folder/Directory.
Apple QuickTime is a standard in both the Mac and PC formats. Download it from Apple Computer.

(1 April 98) QuickTime 3 has recently been released and is a wonderful new standard for both Mac and PC. The Apple download pages are busy on this one but keep trying. It is worth while. Remember, after the installation of the new QuickTime, the QuickTime Plugin must be placed in the Plugin Folder of your browser (Netscape, Internet Explorer, or America Online Browsers).
(16 May 99) Would you believe another update to QuickTime 4 has been released with the release of OS 8.6!! Get it from Apple Computer.

  • If you have the Plugin in your Browser Plugin Folder you will see the icons necessary to:

Click the Play control and listen!! (Just like a tape player)

I'm sure some of you will try clicking all of them at once - what a mess!!

    Adjust the Volume as desired

Background music while you browse the internet

For music in the background while you browse the web try this (Netscape and Internet Explorer users):

  1. Open this page and make your musical selection
  2. Do not close the page but open a new Web Browser (in the File menu)
  3. Browse the web in the new browser (with the musical selection playing in the background)
NOTE: The music may be interrupted momentarily when your CPU is processing some longer instructions.
  4. You may return to this page, to change musical selections or to turn off the music, by selecting this page in the Windows Menu at the top of your Web Browser.
  5. Enjoy!!!! I will change selections here from time to time so check back!

  6. Experiment by clicking on this link - New Browser Page

Coming Soon:

Another method of using MIDI files on the web and on your web site. Check Back!!
