The time has come for me to admit the terrible truth to the world, and to myself. I have become something that I vowed I never would.

I think it all started when I got married. It seemed innocent enough at the time. I never dreamed that it was the first step down this path.

Then our son was born. A joyous occasion, surely. Another step taken.

After that, things seemed so normal for several years. Then came the house. A cute little 3 bedroom ranch, on a corner lot, in a quiet suburb. Another step.

Then things just took off. A dog. Another baby. A minivan. Step. Step. Step.

Finally, this summer, it happened. The last straw. My son. The dear child. He had no idea. He just wanted to play soccer.

I have become a suburban soccer mom.
