EXPERIENCE
ALBRIGHT CONSULTING 1/90 - Present
Provide consulting and contract services to health care research
studies
and human services organizations. Current services include:
- Research
data services including questionnaire design critique, sample
selection, data management, statistical analysis and reporting, and
project documentation. Coach
researchers in design, implementation and management of research
databases.
Collaborate with research team on manuscripts
to be published in academic journals.
- Technical
writing. Example projects include:
- Guide to using a World Wide Web site for a national medical
professional society
- Users' manual for conducting a quality of life improvement
survey for a national non-profit health care advocacy organization
Past services and projects have included: Freelance articles on
informatics for a variety of publications
. Coaching in selection and use of computers and software.
Facilitating a computer task force at a family practice clinic and
residency.
UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA 6/90 - 3/91
- Research Assistant, 8/90 - 3/91
Developed and field-tested a major upgrade to a computer-based
(Macintosh HyperCard) patient questionnaire and education tool on
reducing dietary
fats. Coordinated project team.
- Applications Programmer, 6/90 - 12/90
Developed interactive videodisc computer -aided instruction modules on
kidney anatomy using IBM's Learning System/1 software under direction
of anatomy instructor.
FIRST BANK SYSTEM, 12/85 - 12/89
- Human Resources Data Manager, 10/88 - 12/89
Interim project manager for changes to Human Resources System caused by
enterprise restructuring. Researched and documented usage of key data
fields
affected by system change; wrote guidelines to aid system
modifications.
Developed, documented and implemented security procedures for end-user
access
to human resources systems in mini and mainframe environments.
- Planning and Development Specialist, 9/87 - 10/88
Administered executive succession planning data collection and
reporting
process requiring coordination with Human Resources staff across the
corporation. Assisted staff industrial psychologist in conducting
employee surveys: Created survey layouts for smaller surveys. Created
databases for data collection (dBase III+, PC-Stargraph). Requisitioned
and supervised temporary data entry employees. Drafted data content
coding for open-ended questions. Analyzed data using SPSS-PC. Created
graphical survey reports.
- HRIS/Compensation Assistant, 3/87 - 9/87
- Administrative Secretary, 12/85 - 3/87
Assisted compensation specialist with employee salary reviews and
personnel data management. Maintained human resources data on a
mainframe and on a custom PC-based Human Resources system. Produced
monthly standard and ad hoc
reports and graphs from PC HR system. Assisted productivity consultant
in
diagramming work processes. Coordinated employee newsletter. Assisted
marketing staff in analyzing customer information.
