Whispering Pines - Apt #214
This apartment gives a look of high expense, not in the building itself, but it's contents. The walls and ceiling are painted pure black, and the carpet matches the darkness, save for some off color fuzz, being that it's a pretty new carpet. Across from the door in the living area is a large black entertainment center consisting of a not suprisingly black 42" TV, a large fully digital stereo system with CD and tape players, AM/FM stereo, a setting for the TV, and a useless setting called 'phono'. There are various gaming systems tucked into the entertainment center as well, baring names like Dreamcast, Playstation and Playstation 2, various systems with the word 'Nintendo' upon them... 3D0, NeoGeo, and finally something called a 'colecovision'. This system is complemented nicely by a high quality Bose surround sound speaker system. Two black leather couches are on the left and right of the living area, angled at the entertainment center. A large chest rests on the ground between the couches and the entertainment center, working as a foot rest. The only sources of light are the LEDs on the stereo, the TV, and a small blacklight bulb in the fan in the center of the apartment. A door to the right of the apartment leads to Roger's bedroom(+view) and the small kitchen is visable on the right side of the apartment, almost a part of the living room. The kitchen is lit up by a hallogen lamp, resting next to the front door, pointed towards it.
Obvious exits:
Whispering Pines
Dakota chuckles softly, "Thanks, I think." She says and is interrupted by another yawn.
"You're welcome." Jeremy kisses her temple and sighs up at the ceiling as he hugs her close, training his ears towards the room over, wondering if Sly is going to wake up anytime soon and start causing mischeif. Lord forbid.
"Knock knock," says Mr. Door. Ms. Monitor shows a Natalie on the other side, all in black, and bouncing slightly on her toes.
"I'll get it, just rest." Jeremy says, crawling out of the bed and hops to his feet. He snags up a pair of sweat pants and tugs them on, plodding out into the living room. He shoots a look towards the guest room and then up at the monitor. He blinks and opens up the door. "Hey Natalie.'
"Jeremy," the Walker acknowledges, taking in his casual attire with a flash of eyebrows. "Dakota said she wanted to talk to me. ...Is now a bad time?" Tact saints be praised, she keeps her voice pitched low and makes no move to come inside the apartment.
Dakota whines her protest and tugs the blankets up over her head, but it's hopeless. Despite Jeremy's request for her to stay put, she hears who it is and gets up, dragging her fingers through her mussed hair. She drags herself out of the room and trudges down the hall, "S'alright, Nat." She murmurs, looking in bad need of sleep. She doesn't bother waving or otherwise greeting her, making a beeline for the couch and planting her rump firmly into it. "What'd he do now?"
"She didn't sleep well last night, at all. She was up... um... dealing with... him." Jeremy murmurs as he motoins Nat in, closing the door behind her. "I'll leave you two to talk. You want any breakfast?"
Natalie eels inside to stick near the wall, bestowing a faint smile 'pon the two. "I'm good, thanks. I've been up for hours." When Jer's back is turned the smile drops from her face leaving stern solemnity behind. "'He' being Sly, you mean? Let me say that if he were my cub he'd either be dead or missing a few more body parts than just his brain cells."
"I was out until dawn, roaming the streets so I wouln't kill my own cub." Dakota says flatly, rubbing her temple with two fingers as she bites back a yawn. "I nearly cracked on him last night trying to find out what happened. Either he's a piss poor Galliard or a liar, because he claims to have forgotten what you talked about."
"Word up Natalie." Jeremy confirms from the kitchen before he returns with his now cold toast and coffee. Nether the less, he plops down and eats it anyways. "John would have bashed his balls in and shot him twice or something, and then punished him."
Natalie tucks her hands behind her back, unconsciously setting her feet shoulder-width apart as well, until she looks like she's reporting to the Commondant. "He's not my cub," she repeats pointedly for Jeremy's benefit before returning her attention to Dakota. "I came over, he let me in. Whined about how awful it was to be him. I asked why the hell he did it, he said it was to get back at Flash - of all people - in some unspecified way. I told him he needed to apologize to Flash in addition to you, Alicia-rhya, Eamon-rhya, Stag, and Unicorn. He got sullen and told me he wouldn't, because, in essence, Flash was a meanie pooh-pooh head and made Joey cry."
Dakota furrows her brows, looking more confused than anything. "When in the fuck did this happen? I have no idea how Flash got involved in this. Sly went off into the Umbra because he's an idiot who thought he could handle it. Now I think I should have left him there." She shakes her head, letting out a loud sigh.
"Yes, but it showed that you are an awesome Garou by not." Jermey murmurs from behind his cup of coffee, slupring it slowly, wrinkling his nose at the bitter, cold taste.
"I have no idea - sometime before he disappeared." Nat acknowledges Jeremy with a short nod, but most of her attention's on the Theurge. "He muttered something about 'a week after he Firsted', but at the same time he said he went into the Umbra during the dark of the moon and was there for two weeks. ...Umbra time," she adds with a dismissive curl of her lips. "At any rate, I told him that he needs to tell Flash what he did, why he did it, and who else he buggered and what he's doing to make it up to them. Hardly a cruel and unusual torture, unless you count in the fact that he has to be sincere."
Dakota nods her head slowly, "M'sorry if he's been causing you any problems. He's gotten me in enough hot water as it is, last I need it for him to start dragging more people into this than I had to just to find him. He already has his requests from both Unicorn and Stag to repay them, and I plan on having him make formal apologies to not just everyone who helped me find him, but to everyone he has been pissing off since, and to Megan for causing all of these problems."
Natalie says, "He was whining about how Flash and the Litany - I don't think he understands it. Especially the 'submission' part. Oh, he knows the bits that he thinks will serve him, but he doesn't truly understand it. Not deep down. Right now he's a twisty little rules lawyer, as bad as Josh when he was a cub."
Jeremy clears his throat slightly. "Josh... has changed..." He says softly. "At least on the outside he has. He hugged me the other day as if we were long lost brothers. Did someone show him the Ghost of Christmas Future or something?"
Dakota nods her head slowly, "He likes to lay on the pity, thats for sure. Frankly, I think he's worse than Josh. Sly doesn't just get offended and pissed off. He'll twist things and try and make folks think he's being treated cruely. He didn't submit last night until I was ready to remove his throat, and even then, he was doing it to save his hide."
Natalie offers Jer a knowing smirk. "As bad as Josh was, I said," before back to Dakota. Table tennis with the Garou! "Josh didn't get offended either, at least not when I talked to him. I wanted to put a fist through his face the first time I met him, and that didn't change until, hmn, Tuesday night. But. Sly's got some serious shaping up to do, and he's got attitude oozing out his nose. I'd suggest booting him out of the tribe for two months and then slapping him with a visit from Unicorn, but. Apparently he's already talked to Unicorn and wasn't that impressed."
Jeremy clears his throat. "Give 'em to the Gnawers, don't you owe them one for Karl?"
Dakota is quiet for nearly a full minute before saying very slowly, "I think, with Sly, it's going to come to the point where he's either going to shape up or die - by someone's hands. He's been picking fights with my other cubs, with older Garou, and frankly he's given me the finger in all way but the actual gesture. Giving him to another tribe," She says more to Jeremy, "Is pointless. No one is going to take a cub that can't listen to a simple lesson. If he's gone as far to smart-mouth Unicorn, after she saved his ass, I'm killing him. That I will not put up with. At all."
"If you want help," Natalie says simply, "Let me know. Havoc could use a little practice on our city tracking." That angelic of a smile should not be accompanied by the words 'Havoc' and 'city tracking'.
Jeremy tilts his head slightly and grins. "How is Havoc going for you?" He asks curiously.
"Thanks," Dakota says dryly. "But I'll be the one to deal with him, one way or another. Tonight, him and I are going to have a nice chat." She leans back further against the couch, the black circles around her eyes looking even darker from her mood.
Natalie says, "Your choice. The offer remains open, though." Perhaps Dakota can just hold the idea and look longingly at it once or twice. You know, something to help her through the rough spots. She turns back to Jer, relaxing. "Going all right. We've claimed the west side as our territory, two blocks from north to south. If you see anything there that needs working on, just let us know. --Oh, and I've moved out of the mansion. Found a studio south of there on Concord."
Jeremy nods his head. "Thats cool Nat. Sean moved out of here as well, now that Dakota moved in." He says with a chuckle, shrugging his shoulders. "So its... was... nice having the place to ourselves for a bit."
Dakota grunts slightly at the use of 'was' as she pulls herself up off the couch. "I'm... gonna go try and sleep, think some things over. Sorry again, Natalie, for the trouble he's causing. I'm gonna see he stops it."
"It's not your fault, Dakota. He's a simpering idiot who couldn't count to eleven if he were dressed. I'll let you two... be. Remember what I said about Havoc, hmm? [Natalie]
Jeremy nods his head to Natalie. "I'll take a peek at your territory and see if you guys may need some modifications." He says with a chuckle. "At least, I think that is what you are guessing at? Surveilance?"
Dakota nods her head, "I will, but Sly is my responsibilty. He's involved enough people that shouldn't have been already. But thank you, for the offer." Excusing herself, the Gaian turns and heads back for the bedroom to try and catch a bit of that elusive thing called sleep.
Natalie frowns at him, her eyebrows drawing down. "...No? I meant, if you see something there - gangs, little old women being tripped, whatever - that needs fixing, to let us know and we'll fix it. I'm the only Walker..." she drops a nod at Dakota as she passes, "...in a pack of Get and Furies. I don't think offering Get Smart geek toys would go over real well, and I don't want to do it anyway."
Jeremy rubs his neck slightly, then nods. "Alright." He looks a bit disapointed, but, thats just because he's a geeky nerd.
"Havoc's a war pack, Jer," Nat explains, tucking her hands behind her back again. "We follow Wolverine, not Cockroach. We're a scream and leap bunch, not a sit back and watch it pack. 'Kay? I'll make the offer to Signe, but don't hold your breath."
Jeremy nods his head. "Well. I was thinking of something along the lines of.." He trails off, wettening his lips in thought. "Mm.. well. No, that wouldn't work." He says, then furrows his brows. "Maybe.... um... nah... ok... I guess yer right. You don't got a lotta tekkies in your pack. Ah, no biggie. I'll keep my eyes open."
"I'm the biggest geek of the bunch," Nat agrees, with a snide little twist of her lips that suggests she knows exactly how much of a non-issue that is. "Thanks, but no thanks. And now..." she casts a look down the hallway and reaches for the doorknob, "I'll let myself out. Have a good day, Jer."
Jeremy nods his head and rises up from the couch, rubbing his neck. "Yah, you too.. um.. visit more often, k'?" He says softly with a quick smile on his face. "I.. miss you guys at times. Its just that work is busting my ass, and I'm trying to be a husband at the same time."
Nat says, "You do what you have to, Jeremy. Leala wants to get us together for a Grand Moot, but so far... nada. I've got things on my plate more important than taking Elder back, though, so I'll let things slide for a couple of months. You take care." With another nod she's through the door, bouncing jauntily in her boots as she strides down the hallway.
