01/22/2005: "Dryer Lint Paper"

I was watching a kids game show where people try to guess what the contestants secret is. Today it was a girl who makes paper from dryer lint. The insructions are as follows: You will need a blender, lots and lots of lint, 2 cups of water, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, a piece of wood (1 ft square should do, plywood is best), a brick and a splatter screen(for a frying pan). Pour 2 cups water in to blender add 2 tbs cornstarch and a blob (or hand full) of dryer lint, cover and blend into a plup. Place your pulp on the splatter screen then lay the wood on top and press with brick. Leave brick & wood on pulp for one week. Or you can prewarm oven (i am guessing low heat the girl didn't say how hot) then turn oven off and place plup in oven and leave in for 1 hour. Sheets make the best lint for this project. LOL LOL confused wink razz big grin smile
