Alcan Highway veterans of the 93rd, 95th, 97th and 388th Engineers were hosted by the late Governor Lawton Childes of Florida following a 50th Anniversary Celebration jointly sponsored by the Department of History, the Sociology Department, and the Black Archives of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, and the School of Journalism and Broadcasting of the University of Alaska at Fairbanks, Alaska. January 18-20, 1992 in Tallahassee, Florida.
