A Commerative plaque outside the Alaska Highway
interpretive center in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Canada. Alcan veterans
considered "Mile 0.0" actually to be at Charlie Lake, about 10 miles north
of Dawson Creek, because a dirt road already existed between the two towns
at the time of the arrival of the GIs. But the railhead and embarkation
point on the southern end was at Dawson Creek..What
did this look like 50 years ago?
