| First Day Covers In 1992, the United States Postal Service issued a special commerative postal stamp on the 50th anniversary of the building of the Alaska Highway. These Covers were specially handmade in limited quantities with actual photographs permanently mounted on acid-free collector's envelopes and postmarked on the first day of issue. $5 each or $40 for a full set of 9, postage paid.
